I was amazed by the pleasant weather asI walked to meet my African colleague Milton at the airport car park: a soft breeze, soft sunshine, and clear blue sky. After I settled down, my halcyon daysin Harare began. Apart from routine work, I got opportunities to explore every nook and crannyand experience everything the place had to offer. On weekends, for example,my colleagues would guide me around the city or take me on a retreat in a nearby town. And I remember clearly that one time,I encountered a cluster oflocals at a recreational park. Some were dancing to the radio, some were swimming in the lake, and others were barbecuing and grilling. Seeing me stroll leisurely, a young man invited me to join them. Quite often, whenI was buying groceries at the market, some kids would come and say Nihao (hello in Chinese) to me.
