A time when you gave advice

给建议，给别人建议或是他人给自己建议，在日常生活中都十分常见——大的、重要的建议，如关乎工作、学业、婚姻、人际关系等等；小的、看似琐碎无太大影响的建议，如穿衣打扮、聚会选择地点、影音节目等等。但即使如此常见的事件，很多小伙伴在讲述时却仍觉不易。

在今天的文章里，给大家分享一篇“给建议”的参考范文（以旅行建议为例）。大家可注意并模仿练习文中的一些衔接手段以及相关的表达。

范文开始前，请大家注意“建议”一词的用法（因为太多学生在使用advice, suggestion, advise, suggest, recommend这几个词时犯错了）。

advice是不可数名词，不可说many advices或an advice, 若要加数量，说a piece of advice, some advice, pieces of advice；

suggestion是可数名词，可以说a suggestion, some suggestions, several suggestions；

advise一词可以说advise sb. to do sth., 也可以说advise sb. on sth., 或者advise that后面加句子； 

suggest一词没有suggest sb. to do sth.的搭配，得说suggest doing sth.或者suggest that sb. (should) do sth.；

recommend一词的用法与suggest相同，没有recommend sb. to do sth.的搭配，但可以说recommend doing sth.或者recommend that sb. (should) do sth.。

When I arrived at the coffee house, my friend looked surprised and said, “Wow, I didn’t expect that! You took a laptop and a pile of photos and flyers! While going through these photos, I told her the highlights, traps, and some specific "rules" of the place. You know, something like "It’s a must-see spot; the attraction is a far cry from images online; the vendors here would rip you off, do remain cautious, and you’d better not try the so-called speciality in this restaurant unless you're a culinary daredevil."
