However, some people argue that paying taxes is enough of a contribution to society, while I entertain the view that individuals have a responsibility to do more than just pay their taxes.

These actions are crucial for building strong communities and addressing social problems, such as poverty, homelessness, and inequality, that cannot be resolved by governmental action alone. In other words, strong and effective though governmental action is, the administration can hardly cope with moral issues. Therefore, everyone should strive to do their part, as once a more vibrant, healthy, and equitable society is created, everyone will be the beneficiary.
