实不相瞒，我最近火了。就在短短的10几天里，我在我的家乡成为了热门人物，我在公众号上发的有关家乡的视频也被疯狂转发。感受了一次一夜爆火，也让我意识到越是被捧得很高的时候，越是需要冷静以及低调的重要性，所以我还是继续脚踏实地的写文章吧。

今天我给大家带来的讲解是有关“技能类”的话题—《教别人的技能》。

Describe a time that you think you can teach other people

You should say:

• What it is

• When you learnt it

• How you can teach others

• And explain how you feel about this skill

说实话，“技能类”的话题常年存在在雅思口语题库里，只是它的定语总是会变，但不管它怎么变，万变都不离其中，它探讨来探讨去依旧还是“技能”。

恰恰多数同学被卡住的环就是这个技能究竟讲什么以及技能究竟可以从哪些维度着手进行拓展。针对这两个问题，我们一个个来解决。

“技能”的种类

• Type 类型

技能的类型我们已经做过拆分了，可以参考前面的6大类。

• Popularity 受欢迎程度

我们在体现某技能的受欢迎程度时可以给出受欢迎的原因以及怎样的受欢迎。一般而言，想要体现出一门技能很受欢迎的话，我们可以从学习人数、传播度上进行拓展。

• History 历史

技能也会有历史，有些可能是新出来的技能，比如和电脑挂钩的；有些则存在时间久远。

• People 面向人群

因为不同的技能面向不同的人群，所以我们可以从人的角度着手对使用人群进行划分。

• Cost 费用 

技能也会和费用挂上钩。有些虽然是免费的，但是有些却需要消耗大量的金钱，包括：学习费用、设备费用、场地费用等。

• Equipment/ Tools 装备/ 工具

技能也会和装备、工具有关系。比如：潜水需要有特殊的潜水服；摄影需要有专业的相机。鉴于它们都是物品，我们可以从物品的角度对它做一定的内容拓展。

• Origin 来源

技能也有来源。它们可能诞生于某一个国家，之后就传播到了世界各地。

• Process 过程

技能的学习和实施是分步骤进行的。你最开始要做什么，之后要做什么，最后要做什么。一般而言，这个角度会和小问题“Whether it is difficut”挂钩。当你寻找技能的难点时，你可能刚开始是最难的，然后你就可以把难点定位在最开始的几个步骤中寻找你要的答案。

• Requirement 要求

技能的学习和实施也是会有要求的，比如：对人的要求、对场地的要求、对设备的要求、对天气的要求等。

• Benefits 好处

技能的好处也是促使我们去学习的主要原因，这个角度会和话题最后一问进行匹配。至于具体的好处，我们可以根据7大类分别来总结。

• How you learnt it 如何学习的

针对技能的学习，我们大致可以分为自学和别人教两种。

• Why you want to learn it 为什么要学

一个人为什么要学某技能，可能是因为它本身的好处，也有可能是出于其他的目的。

• When/ how often you use the skill 你什么时候使用该技能/使用频率如何

有些技能你可以能会随时随地，有些则受时间或者空间的局限，你的使用频率不是太高。

• How you know about it 你怎么知道的

这个小问的答题模式参考结构【认知过程-目前结果】。

明确了你能讲的技能以及相关的维度拓展，现在我们便可将其带入到这一季的话题中给出对应的回答。

What it is

在这个话题里，多数同学都直接跳过了小问的拓展。主要原因也是因为小问的拓展比较局限，无法给到足够多的思考方向。在这种情况下，我们可以从几个角度着手给出我们的回答，比如：受欢迎程度、历史、怎么知道的。除此以外，在《技能》这个话题里，你也可以给出费用、来源等信息。

Example one：History+Popularity

A skill that comes to mind is flower arranging 插花. I think it has been around for hundreds of years but it has become a popular hobby for young people lately. Lots of my friends have also learnt it.

Example two：Popularity

A skill that comes to mind is painting nails 美甲. Nail art has become very popular among young girls, as it not only shows off their personality, but it can also make them look pretty. Nowadays, all my friends want to learn it.

When you learnt it

当你发现有一类“when”类型问题需要给出的是一个固定时间点或者有一个持续时间段的时候，我们可以直接按“How you know about xx”类型问题的答题结构来回答，也就是【认知过程-目前结果】。

在这个话题里，我们面对的“when”类型问题就会有一个持续时间段，从你什么时候知道或者从你次什么时候尝试到你最终开始学。

为此，在给出答案时，我们便可思考：

step one：你次听说或者接触到这项技能是什么时候/通过谁/或者从那里知道的；

step two：次接触到后给你的感受如何？好的感受还是不好的感受？

step three：最后你是如何进一步去了解这项技能以及什么时候正式开始学习，学习频率如何？

Example ：

The first time I tried nail art was about 5 years ago. My mother took me to a beauty salon and I had my first experience. I thought it was amazing. 

As I could paint, I decided to try it out myself. After using tutorials online, I got the hang of 掌握...的技能 it within 2 months.

除此之外，你也可以采用【时间+理由】的方式直接进行作答。

Example ：

Actually, I learnt about flower arranging in my first year of university. I joined a workshop and with my teacher's guidance I picked up 获得 a lot of tips and techniques. 

Even though the course lasted only a few days, I gained a lot. With more practice after the workshop, I soon mastered it.

How you can teach others

多数同学迷惑的是这一小问的拓展。我究竟应该回答“教的具体内容”还是“教的方式”，其实两者皆可，但我个人倾向后者，因为简单。

对于“教的方式”，我们大致可以分成两种：online & offline。为此，我们在拓展这一问的时候接着就可以从线上教学和线下教学各自存在的利弊着手进行拓展了。

有关它们的利弊，我在之前有关part 3的推送里有讲解，大家可以自行查阅—《Part 3探讨｜Online/Offline类型问题的解题策略》(点击标题查看原文)。

在此问的回答中，我们可以把online和offline结合在一起。比如：我可以线上教，开直播或者录视频；我也可以线下教，手把手教学会来的更为有效。

Actually, there are many ways for me to teach others. Like other nail art enthusiasts 美甲爱好者, I could post videos online with some small but easy-to-learn techniques.  

I could also have some face to face workshops. I think having the interaction would make it easier and more enjoyable for the customers.

How you feel about this skill

至于你对该技能的感受许多聊的是它本身的重要性，我们可以通过不同技能的分类来做相对应的总结：

• 家务料理类技能 

家务料理类技能是可以培养一个人的独立性，同时，它也可以帮助我们省钱。

Example：Cooking

I think it is very important for everyone to learn how to cook. If you can cook, that means you are more independent than others who can’t. 

No matter whether you live with your parents or alone, you can still take good care of yourself. More practically, it can also help you save lots of money. Cooking yourself is much cheaper than dining out. 

• 技术类技能

一般而言，技术类技能可以帮助我们更好的找工作，同时，它也可以是我们变得更加的受欢迎。除此以外，和工作、学习相关的技能可以高效的帮助我们提高学习效率; 和运动、艺术相关的技能则可以帮助我们放松以及缓解压力。

Example one：Video-editing skill

I think video editing is a very important skill especially nowadays. I am really pleased I took it up, as there are many benefits. For example, it helped me get a part-time job. For the last month, I have been helping an online celebrity edit one or two of her daily vlogs and she pays me 500 yuan for each one. 

Even though I am still a student, the extra money helps a lot. My parents are also proud that I am independent and making my own money.

Example two：Shorthand

I think shorthand is a very important skill not only for students but also for people who are working. It is a good way to improve efficiency. I used to be a slow writer and I always found it difficult to keep up in class. 

Because of this, my grades dropped a lot and I panicked. Now I have learnt how to use it, school is less stressful. When the teachers talk quickly, I can write everything down without missing a word.

Example three：Flower arranging

I am really pleased I took up this hobby. It brings me a lot of joy and color everyday. It brightens my mood and leaves me feeling very positive. For example, last week, I was feeling really down and I was overwhelmed about my coming exam. 

Then I started make a bouquet and the flowers gave me energy and the motivation to go on. I recommended this skill to all my friends.

• 生存类技能

生存技能最主要的好处就是确保自己以及他人生命的安全。

Example ：First aid

I think first aid is a very useful life-saving skill to have because you can always help out in an emergency. Several months ago, my friend took part in a marathon but unfortunately he twisted his ankle. 

Everybody started to panic, but I kept calm, checked him over and applied an iced water bottle to the injury. 10 mins later, the doctor came and complimented me for what I had done to reduce his pain. I felt really proud of myself.

• 金钱管理类技能

金钱管理类技能的重要性主要体现在“开源节流”上，这类技能让你懂得如何省钱，同时又懂得如何赚钱, 最终它也会给你带来强烈的安全感。

Example ：Money management

I think it is an invaluable skill that is worth learning. It helps you avoid financial problems like making bad investments or taking out high interest loans. It also teaches you the importance of having a nest egg 有储蓄 and putting money away for a rainy day 存钱以备不时之需. 

For example, when the coronavirus outbreak 冠状病毒爆发 happened, many people lost their jobs or had their hours reduced. For these people, it was a tough period, as they didn’t have anything to fall back on 求助, but for people who had put away some savings, it wasn’t such a worry.

• 自我意识能力类技能

自我意识类技能的重要性体现在自我管理上，这类技能可以帮你缓解压力 ，同时让你取得许多。

Example ：How to meditate

I think it is a very important skill for all of us to learn, as it really helps alleviate  缓解 stress. I used to easily get distracted and would find difficult to focus on individual tasks. 

However, everything changed when I learnt how to meditate 冥想. Now I can manage my time well and accomplish all my tasks, because my mind is no longer cluttered 凌乱的.

• 人际关系类技能

人际关系类技能的重要性体现在高效交流和交友上，这类技能可以帮你更好的表达自己的想法，同时也会帮你获得许多的朋友。

Example ：Communication skills

I think communication skills are vital. Not only for business, but also for everyday life. In the past, I didn’t know how to talk to others effectively and a lot of the time my message was lost, but now, I think I am good at being clear. As a result, conversations are lot smoother.
