我觉得本季话题最正常的就是物品类的话题，可恰恰最近有好几个线下学生会提出说他们不知道该如何解答《对家庭重要的东西》这道题。

Describe something important that has been kept in your family for a long time

You should say:

• What it is

• When your family had it

• How your family got it

• And explain why it is important for your family 

按我个人的解题习惯，我觉得只要是关键词容易确定，并且角度容易拆分的话题都不会是难题，所以我压根不觉得这道题是一个会把我学生难住的话题。即便如此，从标题本身来看，大致还是能够知道大家被该话题难住的原因。多数同学被定语部分的内容所影响并影响了整道题的思考方向。

标题里有迷惑性的部分不是“important”，而是“for a long time”。因为你需要选择一个“kept for a long time”的东西，有些同学就会往“古董”的方向走。再加上大家在思考问题的时候喜欢结合实际，然后就会发现自己家里没有古董可说。也正是如此，这道题就此卡住，不知道该说什么。

但无论如何，我们在拿到题的瞬间要先确定的是核心关键词，而不是定语部分。在我看来，定语部分是在完整结构框架出来后才需要思考的部分，因为我们需要结合定语部分的内容来确定框架内具体的内容走向，不然就会出现例题的情况。

现在我拿这道题来做完整的答题演示，你们可以跟着我最终来搭建属于自己的结构和内容框架。

Step one：确定核心关键词

“something”=object

PS: 关键词都是话题里除掉定语部分后最核心的单词。确定好关键词后需要进一步转化并思考它究竟等同于哪一类话题。

Step two：拆分维度

object维度包括 type/ price/ quality/ quantity/ function/ brand/ company/ designer

appearance (size/ color/ shape/ decoration/ style/ material)/ popularity/ history/ when/ where/ who/ why/ how long/ how often/ how you know about etc.

PS: 从雅思官方的题目类别来看，part 2最主要分成：people/ place/ object/ activity这四大类。为此，提前记住这些话题对应的维度可以迅速帮助我们解题，而不是在考试时才开始拆分维度走向。

Step three：结构层搭建

到目前为止，你还不需要思考这个对家庭重要的东西是什么。相反，我们需要来明确每个小问题的解题结构以及角度拓展方向。

• What it is

结构层：xx+popularity

拓展小问时完，我们需要从“Object”的维度中挑选1-2个适合的维度来给出一定的“Basic information”，同时又要注意不要和下面内容重合。一旦重合，你就需要立刻将问的维度让位给其他小问，并挑选其他维度重新拓展内容。针对小问的拓展，保守一点来看，我会推荐“Popularity”这个角度并进一步阐述，它为什么受欢迎，以及怎样受欢迎。除此以外，Brand/ price/ history等都可以被我们拿来考虑。

• When your family had it

结构层：the first time we heard about it....when we got it

这一问的拓展有2种格式：种-按“year-month-date-hour”的格式对时间点进行拓展，这也就意味着你需要给出较为具体的时间信息;第二种则是按“How you know about”的解题结构进行拓展，从怎么知道到什么时候拥有。这就需要给出一个完整的认知过程。需要注意的是，我们没有必要把“for a long time”想的太遥远，3-4年前/4-5年前等都可以是“for a long time”。

• How your family got it

结构层：who bought it+when/ where/ how much

这道题的拆分核心在于“got”，首先可以确定这是一个动词。问题中的动词一致的拓展方向为“5w2h”也就是“when/ where/ who/ what/ why/ how often/ how much”。不管是自己去买的还是别人送的都可以进一步说明什么时候在哪花了多少钱买的等。

• Why it is important for your family

结构层：P-E-E

“Why”类型问题解题结构为“PEE”格式—point/explain/ example。观点的论述上，我们需要从物品的维度中确定一个主要答题方向，解释部分则可以通过对比论述进行说明。

Step four：内容层搭建

Describe something important that has been kept in your family for a long time

• What it is

结构层：xx+popularity

内容层：dish-washer+popularity (past (less popular-expensive/ pointless)-now (everyone has them))

• When your family had it

结构层：the first time....when we got it

内容层：the first time-advertisement-impressed with all the functions-my mum finally got one about 5 years ago

• How your family got it

结构层：who bought it+when/ where/ how much

内容层：a gift from my mum’s friend—business trip/bought it in shanghai/ had an offer-buy one get one for free

• Why it is important for your family

结构层：P-E-E

内容层：P-Ease family conflicts/ have more family time; E-past vs now; E-for example...

“Why”类型问题解题结构为“PEE”格式—point/explain/ example。观点的论述上，我们需要从物品的维度中确定一个主要答题方向，解释部分则可以通过对比论述进行说明。

在这一步我们就需要具体考虑你要讲的这个“something important that has been kept in your family for a long time”到底是什么。我们可以从“type”上进行考虑，它可以是家具类/电器类/装饰类/书籍类/交通工具类/服饰类/电子产品类等都可以。确定好具体要讲的物品，我们便可完成具体内容的搭建。

你可以看到内容层完全是按照结构层来走的。为此，先确定结构层，再明确内容层可以帮助我们提前扫清障碍，同时展现更好的思维逻辑。这个结构框架在一定程度上也回答了部分同学存在的问题：考场一分钟时间该如何利用，究竟应该写些什么？

An important thing that comes to mind is a dish-washer which has been in my family for a long time. Actually,  when we first got it dishwashers weren't that popular, many people thought they were expensive and pointless.  People preferred washing dishes by hand. But nowadays, everyone has them.

I clearly remember seeing the dishwasher for the first time on a TV advert.  We were all watching our favorite soap opera at the time.  When the ad came on we were so impressed with all the functions and my mum said how it could make her life so much easier.  Unfortunately, it came with a pretty large price tag so we couldn't get one at the time but my mum finally got one about 5 years ago.

Actually, it was a gift from my mum’s best friend. She bought it in Shanghai when she was on a business trip there. They had an amazing offer 正在打折 where if you bought one, you got the other one-half price so she snapped them up 抢购. 

• And explain why it is important for your family

This gift did more than wash dishes.  Over the years it has really eased family conflicts 缓解家庭矛盾. My parents are both busy, so they always used to argue about who should wash the dishes. My father is a bit lazy, so he always refused to help which infuriated 激怒 my mum. They even quarreled about it. But ever since we got the dish-washer our dinner time has become more peaceful. We all get to watch TV while the dishwasher takes care of all the plates and dishes.
