　　The six pie charts show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world. We see a huge difference between developing areas and developed ones.

　　For the developed areas including North America and Europe, much more water is used for industry. Up to 53% of water is used in industries in Europe while only 5% in Central Asia. 12% of the water resources of South East Asia is used for industry which is the highest proportion among the developing areas.

　　Another distinguished difference is the amount of water used for agriculture. With 88% of water used for agricultural development and production, Central Asia tops among the six areas. However, North America and Europe only distribute 39% and 32% of their water resources respectively in agriculture. Central Asia and South East Asia still rely on agriculture, which is the important source of economic growth, like their ancestors.

　　The percentage of water used for different purposes reflect the GDP of a certain area as well as its international status. Generally, developed areas use more water for industrial purposes; while developing ones use more water for agricultural productions.
