《希望养成的习惯》看似简单又不知道如何拓展的新题

好久不见呀,感觉我这个鸽王每篇推送的最开始都是再说“抱歉,又让你们等了这么久。” 鉴于上周六收到粉丝在视频号里给我的私信,我觉得还是有必要挤挤时间来给你们讲解讲解的。

那么今天就先来满足这个同学的需求,我们来聊一聊—《希望养成的习惯》。其实我一直觉得这道题难度一般,所以原本这篇话题不在我的讲解列表里,但昨晚和考官聊到,她说“虽说这道题不是很难,但越是生活的东西,其实在细节拓展上还是挺有难度的”。也正是如此,我觉得还是很有必要来帮大家来罗列下观点。

Describe a habit your friend has and you want to develop

You should say:

• Who your friend is

• What habit he/she has

• When you noticed the habit

• And explain why you want to develop this habit

面对这个话题,我们要把核心放在“Habit”上,而不要把“friend”看的过重。“your friend has”只是定语部分,所以它不是最主要的影响因素。换句话说,只要你确定一个“Habit”,它就可以是你任何一个朋友拥有的一个习惯。

既然“Habit”是核心关键词,我们就需要来拆分它,从而明确可讲范围。

“习惯”实则保罗万象,如果你想给它拆分成具体的两块内容的话,我会把它分为“生活”和“工作/学习”。

这个拆分方式也符合很多话题关键词的拆分原则,比如:argument/ promise/ advice等。

What kind of arguments are there in a family?

有很多争论,和生活相关的, 比如...;和工作学习相关的..., 比如...

What kind of promises do people make often?

有很多承诺,和生活相关的, 比如...;和工作学习相关的..., 比如...

What kind of advice do people give to others?

有很多建议,和生活相关的, 比如...;和工作学习相关的..., 比如...

现在回到“Habit”本身,所以我们从“生活”和“工作/学习”来分别寻找可以有的一些习惯。

• 和生活相关的

饮食习惯:每天吃早饭、一日三餐规律饮食、过午不食、每天喝茶、睡前喝牛奶等;

睡眠习惯:午睡、早睡早起、睡眠8小时等;

运动习惯:每天运动一小时、运动后拉升、运动前充分的暖身运动、睡前冥想、运动前吃一根香蕉等;

其他:每周打扫一次卫生、房间摆放整齐、每天只玩1小时手机、手机静音、每个月度假一次等。

• 和工作/学习相关的

作计划/ 每日只工作5小时/ 每学习一小时休息10分钟/ 写日记/ 每天练习一小时口语等。

从以上来看,我们能选择的“Habit”是非常多样化的,无非就是一个人习惯性去做的事情就是“Habit”。就我个人而言,我的其中一个“Habit”就是“不看朋友圈”。

明确了Habit的范围,我们将开启整道题的分析。

Who your friend is

在这道题里,小问的拓展略显局限。很多同学会不知道究竟该增加哪些和人相关的内容,既符合主题又能增加字数。有这么两个角度是我会建议的:

• How you know about the person 你怎么知道这个人的

这个维度经常会以问题的形式出现在Part 2话题里,但它本身也是一个角度。为此,当我们提到一个人的时候也可以附带上你和他的认识方式。

基于该维度对应的答题框架为【认知过程-目前结果】,所以我们可以说明:认识他的方式,对他的印象以及你们目前的关系。

为了更抠题,你对他的印象需要说明一些和爱好相关的信息,比如:他是一个自律的人。

Example :

If it is possible, I really want to develop a habit that my friend, Lucy has. Actually, we have been friends for over 10 years, since high school. She is a very self-disciplined person, so my mum also encourages me to spend more time with her. Because of this, even though we study in different cities, we still keep in touch online.

• Popularity 受欢迎程度

这个维度也不失为一个且适合的维度,放在绝大多数的part 2话题里都是没有问题的。在阐述“Popularity”时,我们需要说明“为什么受欢迎”以及“怎样的受欢迎”。往往一个拥有好习惯的人都会受到很多人的喜欢。

Example :

Actually, I want to develop a habit that my friend, Tom has. Tom is my best friend in high school and he is also popular among students and teachers, as he is self-disciplined. Because of this good trait, he is also a very good student who always passes exams with flying colors 高分. 

What habit he/she has

这道题的核心拓展点在于当你提出这个“habit”之后,后续的拓展情况。我会把“habit”当成一个动作,为此,一个动作就需要匹配“when/where/ why/ who/what/how often/ how much”这样的维度。

所以,这个人究竟有怎样的习惯不是很重要,但重点在于每个习惯后,你需要再给出充分的细节。比如:他的习惯是每天早起吃早饭。他往往会几点起床,去哪家店吃早饭,早饭吃什么,有的时候也会和谁一起吃等。

Example one:

She has so many good habits, but the most impressive one is getting up early. She always gets up at the crack of dawn 早起. After having a short breakfast, she starts reading and then does some meditation 冥想. She always goes to school with a fresh mind.  

Example two:

He has a bunch of good habits which are worth learning. The most impressive one is making a to-do list when a new day starts. He self-designed a to-do list notebook and divided each page into several columns 栏 with “to do”, “doing” and “done”. He fills in each column carefully and then checks each item off at the end of the day.

When you noticed it

“你什么时候注意到的?”这个问题也就相当于“How you know about it”, 这就可以和我们小问拓展里的解题框架一致—【认知过程-目前结果】。

• 最开始是怎么知道的,你自己发现的,还是他跟你说的;

• 你了解到了哪些,比如:他坚持这种习惯多久了?受谁的影响?为什么会坚持这种习惯的原因?

• 最终你也就想要拥有这个习惯。

Example one:

Actually, I didn’t know about her habit until we had a conversation many years ago about her morning routine. She told me how she organizes her time. I was completely shocked that she had managed to maintain this schedule for such a long time. 

She also told me that she was greatly influenced by her late grandfather who got up even earlier than her. He kept telling her how ' the early bird always catches the worm' 早起的鸟儿有虫吃. She decided that she wanted to do the same. I was really impressed and also wanted to try it myself.

Example two:

The first time I realized that he had this habit was when I sitting next to him in school. I accidentally saw him making his list and it really triggered my curiosity 引起好奇心. 

Then he told me that he had learned it from a blogger online and he thought it was very effective, so he gave it a try. He has had this habit for almost 10 years. I was really intrigued and also wanted to have a try.

Why you want to develop this habit

至于你为什么想要养成这样的习惯,我们就只需要聊一聊这种习惯带来的好处即可。注意,最后一问的拓展格式为:Point-explain/example。当你提出一个论据后需要进一步的解释或者举例。

Example :

Even though getting up early sounds like torture 折磨 to me, I still want to develop this habit, as my friend has shown me that there are many benefits. She told me that it would help make the days feel much longer, and in turn more productive 高效的, giving me a great sense of achievement. 

More importantly, getting up early would also help me change my lifestyle. I would go from a night owl 夜猫子 to an early bird 早起的人. Lucy usually goes to bed at around 10 or even earlier. Because of this, she is always energetic during the daytime.

Example :

I The reason why I want to develop this habit is that I think it will help me to procrastinate 拖延 less. To be honest, I always put things off 拖延 till the last minute. Because of this, I feel anxious all the time when deadlines are looming 逼近. 

But making a list will help make my days much more organized, like my friend. He has a clear goal of what he should do in a day and then he also receives a great sense of accomplishment when he ticks them off 用记号勾出 one by one. Because of this, he is always motivated and driven.
