Task 1:

Because most students have their own laptops, your university is considering closing the campus computer lab, where students use university-owned computers. Do you think this is a good idea and why?【重复2019.9.21/2023.5.25线下原题】

Task 3:

Agroforestry(农林复合系统),将农业和林业结合在一起,以创造更可持续和综合的农业系统。

1. 过于雄心勃勃(Ambitious),高过自己的期望,结果实际上比计划花的时间长些;

This week in class we are learning about different methods of advertising and their effectiveness. One advertising strategy that companies often use is to ask celebrities, famous entertainers, or sports figures to promote their products. However some experts believe that it is more effective to have ordinary people talk about the product. Which of these two advertising strategies do you think is better?

Paul

I like the "ordinary people" approach. People are more interested in a product when they see people like themselves using the product.I think this is even true for clothing advertisements, which traditionally use famous models. People get a better idea of whether they like the clothes when they see all kinds of different people wearing them, and not just models.

Claire

I think the use of celebrities is really effective. The first thing an advertisement must do is grab viewers’attention. When a famous actor or sports figure appears in your advertisement, viewers first notice the celebrity,"what's this?I really like that person." they think. Then once you have the viewers attention, you can provide information about your product.

A new study has revealed that in America, less than a quarter of newly qualified doctors go intoprimary care. this finding suggests that the number of new primary care doctors falls short of whatis needed and fails to satisfy the growing demand. this declining rate of primary care physicians canbe linked to several shortcomings of America's medical school system. there are three main hurdlesthat medical students face that hinder the appeal and practicality of' entering the field of primarycare.

To begin with, medical school is getting more and more expensive. the current price of medicalschool means that most medical students can expect to have significant school loans and debt by thetime they graduate. in order to pay off this debt, medial students are turning toward more lucrativespecialties instead of pursuing primary care. the rise in tuition costs has also priced out manytalented but low-income students who might have chosen primary care as a profession. in this casethe tremendous cost of tuition scares off potential doctors.

A key component of medical school is a period of hospital residency. This internship is a period oftraining that must be completed after a student.
