Why do people take photos?

Well, I guess it has something to do with their inclination to brag. You know, many people are just keen on posting flashy pics in real time, especially when they travel. I mean, what they want is to impress their friends or colleagues and make them jealous: the stunning scenery they see, the scrumptious and delicious delicacies they have and the luxurious resorts they stay in and so on. Also, there’re many people who take photos as a reminder or sort of evidence. To give you an idea, a man probably has a mind like a sieve, and he is going to the pharmacy to buy some pills. Instead of taking the empty container with him, he might take a pic of the container and show it to the assistant at the store. Likewise, when one's vehicle is hit by another, he/she would immediately snap photos of the scene as proof later.

What do people use to take photos these days, cameras or phones?

In most cases, I guess, built-in cameras are the best choice because they are fast and good. Whenever and wherever they are, as long as photo takers wish, all they need is to take out their smartphones and snap. However, I’ve noticed that while travelling, quite many still carry a digital camera or a professional camera with them. Maybe it is because what they see during the travel is different from their daily life, and they want high-quality photos. I mean, in some cases, only digital or professional cameras can allow people to shoot in the distance and deliver excellent pics. Let’s say a panoramic view or shooting the time-lapse.

Is it difficult for people to take good photos?

Honestly speaking, though photography is something that literally everybody does, it’s not a walk in the park to take an excellent photo. You know, taking superb photos depends on various factors, one of which is your device, of course. I mean, if you shoot with a poor-quality camera, the image you get is of low resolution, especially when the photo is taken in a dim environment. But if you use a professional camera or a high-end built-in camera, its various lenses allow you to get the best image in different environments. Another part that makes taking good photos difficult is your skills. This includes how you frame your subject, how you make use of the light and perspective, whether you get the white balance right, whether you capture a strong moment, and so forth.
