Yeah, definitely. In fact, booming tourism is a mixed blessing. Undoubtedly, tourism has created employment opportunities aplenty, which feeds loads of people across the country. Those working in the tourism industry can earn a handsome income by providing various services, such as accommodation, catering, and shuttle services, for tourists. We can see this with Mui Ne, the once-traditional fishing village in Vietnam. In the past, the locals generally relied heavily on fishing, but since Mui Ne has become a well-liked leisure destination, villagers can now earn extra through package tours, guided tours, and all that. However, tourism has repercussions for the local community, including loss of cultural heritage, ecological degradation, and intrusion into the lives of natives. A case in point is Gamcheon, also known as the Santorini of Korea, a hillside village in Busan. The mild climate, inviting views, and artistic, colourful wall paintings have lured globetrotters and art lovers. Each day, gaggles of visitors amble down the village path, noisily snapping selfies and leaving trails of trash behind. The residents have made complaints to the local government, and to discourage tourists from visiting, they've even erased many of the murals.

• What is your opinion of space tourism?

Well, I know it’s something that many people thirst for. But personally speaking,I take it with a grain of salt. The thing is, the universe is so complex and changeable that terrible risks can arise during a space trip. For instance, the spacecraft might not be durable enough to withstand the sudden change of atmosphere, and thus fail. Even if these obstacles can be overcome, the negative effects of space travel on the body can be far-reaching. I remember once reading a science article, which says space travel can cause our skeletal structure to alter. A terrible result of this change is weakened bones. Worse still, travelling into outer space means you are directly exposed to dangerous levels of some particles. As a result, people who travel into outer space are at high risk of developing cancers, cataracts and suffering from brain damage.
