Honestly speaking, I’m not a science buff. Back in high school, science subjects like maths and physics were a big headache for me. I vaguely remember I watched a documentary series on marine life for the first time at 7 or 8. At the time, I was excited to find that the underwater world is a place of colours and wonders. However, it wasn’t until three years ago that my interest in marine biology was kindled. It all started with an award-winning documentary, Blue Planet. Seeing an array of underwater creatures took my breath away. Some have dazzling colours; some have weird habits; some are ferocious, while others are friendly and gentle. So, that’s how I’ve got to know marine biology. I know it’s too late to pursue a career in this field. Anyway, I still enjoy exploring more about the subject. In fact, I’ve watched dozens of documentaries related to it so far. They’ve expanded my horizons. Maybe I can call myself an amateur marine biologist now. Probably, in the near future, I'll travel to a remote island off the coast, and by then, I'll apply what I've learnt from these documentaries.【根据自己的情况简要或稍具体描述是否做过与这个领域相关的事，或者未来是否有打算做与之相关的事。】

比如：如果是对science of deception detection感兴趣，那是不是最近已经看过很多本有关的书籍、研究、影视作品，并且从中学到了一些不错的tricks，顺带可以举例一二。

In recent years, I’ve read dozens of books about deception detection. I’ve also watched scores of crime TV series such as Lie to Me and Criminal Minds. Luckily, from these, I’ve learnt a few tricks for seeing through people’s lies and deception. For example, people displaying grooming behaviours - touching their mouths or playing with their hair - are most likely lying.

I’ve subscribed to many astronomy channels where I can keep abreast of the latest discoveries in astronomy and view stunning photographs posted by other astronomy enthusiasts. Last winter, I even spent a whole monthly salary on a professional camera, which enables me to get superb shots of the starry sky. Since then, I’ve taken thousands of photos of the night sky. With a stroke of luck, one of the photos won me a generous cash prize in an astronomy photographer competition last year. I think my passion for astronomy will not wane, and I will keep following it.
