各位小伙伴大家好！我们今天一起来看看当季雅思口语Part 2 A time when you gave a speech 这个题目。这个题目有的同学可能会因为“演讲经历”过少而不知道讲什么内容。但其实，针对这个题目，除了我们常见的“竞选发言”“演讲比赛”“学生代表/优秀学生发言”外，像在学校里小组为单位做某个项目，你负责PPT讲解、在朋友婚礼上发言致辞/祝福、或是以前某个专业课轮到自己做个主题展示等，都是可以选择的。

不论大家选择什么样的情景，“演讲”里的一些共性要素都是可以应用到自己的故事经历中的。比如演讲前的准备和练习、临场前的情绪（兴奋、自信满满、紧张、害怕、恐慌等）、演讲时的情况（与听众的眼神交流、有无忘词、声音听上去有些颤抖还是笃定等）、演讲结束的感受（欣慰、自豪、开心等）。

除了这些共性要素外，大家还可以根据自己的具体情况，适当增加背景部分的细化描述，比如这个演讲是自己如何发现、自己就感兴趣报名参加还是别人怂恿、鼓励参加、抑或是无奈无法避免的任务。

Our high school has long had this tradition of having a pep rally and countdown ceremony in hopes of helping us maintain our momentum. At first, I didn’t have any idea about the topic. I had struggled for days before I came up with the first draft. But, as you can imagine, it was far from satisfactory. So, for the next few days, I scratched my head to polish my speech draft.

Since I had little experience giving public speeches, memorising the script was not a walk in the park for me. What made me feel depressed was that my voice became quite different from how I talk in everyday life. I sounded silly.

It took me a long time to memorise the speech, and I strived hard to make myself look natural and confident. Each day, I would stand in front of the mirror, look at myself in the mirror, and observe my body language and facial expressions. In the first few days, when I started speaking, my smile became wooden, and my body stiffened with nervousness.

I was the next. I was waiting at the backstage. It was a warm day, but I trembled with cold and anxiety.

I took a deep breath while walking slowly onto the stage. I was stunned when the audience began clapping and staring at me. I was under the spotlight. Everyone was waiting for me to start.

Everything was fine at first. Then, all of a sudden, my mind just went blank. I couldn’t recall what I was going to say next. The auditorium was so silent that I could hear a pin drop. Finally, I finished my speech. It felt like I had been on stage forever and a day, but it was only three minutes. As a timid, withdrawn person, I didn’t get cold feet throughout, which made me feel immensely relieved and proud.
