Then, probably in the middle of the gala, I guess, it’s time for a band to stage. At first, I was expecting the show, but the high-pitched screams and distorted guitar riffs shocked me. What? The heavy metal? Well, I have to say it’s the only genre of music that gets on my nerves. It was then that I frowned impatiently, hesitating over whether or not to leave. The next thing I knew, the singer's fierce, sharp voice almost deafened me. It's sheer torture.

After a 12-hour flight, I was nearly exhausted. I wanted nothing but a night of sound sleep. However, there's a wildly popular bar downstairs, so the deafening live music played on and on, along with tourists' incessant chatter and chants.

It was my first ride in a dodgem/bumper car, so I was a bit nervous. Then, along with upbeat music blaring out from the stereo, everyone else started moving. Before I could get it started, I heard people shrieking with excitement and laughter as well as squealing brakes.

I was woken by constant horn honking and the car engine revving from the outside. I got out of bed and shuffled to the balcony - the rush hour, I came to realise. As I dragged myself to bed, I overheard a gaggle of people chatting excitedly on the porch. Needless to say, this made me deeply regret booking this hotel.

What made it worse was that the whole place was so buzzing and lively that my friend and I could barely hear each other. So, we had to talk at the top of our voices.

By the time we arrived, the plaza was teeming with people. Fortunately, we managed to get to the front, which was the best spot for viewing. Soon after, the countdown began. “10, 9, 8 …3, 2, 1.” Bang! Sputtering fireworks shoot straight through the air before shattering into dazzling sparks. A deafening cheer went up from the crowd.

The next second, to our relief and greatest joy, the French player missed the penalty. The next thing I knew, music blasted out; people in the bar went wild. They were shrieking with laughter and excitement. As for me, I was lost in this noisy but cheerful atmosphere.
